Final Draft Recommended by the Planning Board

OF the land use code + zoning map

The release of the final drafts of the land use code and zoning map as recommended by the Planning Board signals the pinnacle of the City-wide undertaking to update our land use code to meet the needs of today’s Portland throughout the 21st century. The final revisions respond to nearly one thousand individual comments received over the course of this year, and the scores of public comment since the ReCode process began in earnest. The final drafts for Planning Board review include minor changes to address comments received at the Planning Board workshop on September 17 and in the time since.

WHAT’s NEXT?

The City Council held their first workshop on the final ReCode draft on Monday, September 30. The Planning Board held a final public hearing on Tuesday, October 8. At that meeting, the Planning Board voted to recommend the final draft to the City Council for adoption. The Council will hold a second workshop on October 28, followed by their own public hearing.
